preserving religious freedom...

So I just read this speech that Dallin H. Oaks gave a few days ago and I am strongly affected, and impressed by what he said. I am an active LDS person and I have a firm faith that the gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I know that there are people who do not believe the same way as I do, but we are all free to believe and worship as we choose and that is one of those things that makes this country great. I can't imagine not being allowed to write that on this blog, or say it in front of a group of people if I feel inclined to do so. I encourage you all to read this and to think about what Elder Oaks has to say. I am not trying to be an alarmist or promote any certain religion or political belief- but I do want freedom of religion! I'm just pretty sure that the whole point of this country's existence is to have that so....

Read it here.
